Mary (Kennedy) Merriman

Merriman, Mary (Kennedy); Age 90, of Sewickley, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Beloved wife of 30 years to the late Charles R. “Bud” Merriman. Loving mother of John (Candace) Merriman, Jo Ann (Rudy) Plese and Charles (Nicky) Merriman. Sister of Patrick Kennedy, the late Thomas Kennedy, Brigid Broderick, Margaret McCawley. Grandmother of Andrew (Makenna) Plese, Sarah (Nicholas) O’Neill, Tyler Merriman, Blake Merriman and Charles “Chuckie” Merriman (fiancé Kelly). Great-grandmother of Mason, Madison, Adalyn, Maddox and Carson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mary left Ireland in 1949 for the United States, finally settling in Sewickley. There, she continued as a devout Catholic at the Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church where she was a member of the Women’s Guild, 55+ Club and Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Sewickley American Legion, Post #4 Auxillary. In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation, however the family invites everyone to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church, 200 Walnut Street, Sewickley, PA 15143 at 11am. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery. Contributions in Mary’s name may be made to the Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church or Concordia at Villa St. Joseph for their loving care extended to Mary. Arrangements entrusted to R.D. Copeland, Irvine Chapel.
