Mary Jane (Rooney) Hartz

Mary Jane (Rooney) Hartz, age 80, of Moon Township, formerly of Glenshaw passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Beloved wife of William D. Haretz, III; stepmother of Donna (Vernon “Bud”) Williams and Daniel (Donna) Hartz; step grandmother of Justin Morrissey, Stephanie (Ozcan) Aslanturk and Megan (David) Morrissey; step great grandmother of Adem and Demelza Aslanturk; sister of Charlotte (Edmund) Ladoucer and the late Charles Rodney, Jr., and Thomas Francis Rodney. Mary retired from the Pittsburgh Public Elementary School system after many years of educating numerous future generations. In her quiet times, she enjoyed painting. She and Bill enjoyed travelling all around the world, bicycling everywhere and spending their winter seasons skiing with their ski club at Seven Springs Resort. Services were held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Animal Friends. Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland, Ltd.
