Mary B. (Bargar) Tucci

Mary Tucci, age 84, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on November 4, 2024. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ernest Tucci. She is survived by her sister Cora Haney and husband Ray, Pittsburgh, her brother Robert Bargar and wife Claire, Pittsburgh, and her children John Tucci, Sewickley, Marie Tucci Culver and husband Mark, Virginia Beach, and Linda Tucci, Chesapeake, VA. She was a loving and proud grandmother of Emily and Sarah Culver of Virginia Beach. She was a dedicated mother, volunteer at her children's school and was a devout Catholic and long-standing member of St. James Catholic Church, Sewickley.  Mary worked as a Bell Telephone operator in Pittsburgh and an Office Manager for Aleppo Township Water Authority.  She was a longtime member of the Sewickley YMCA where she immersed herself in the tennis and platform tennis programs. She was instrumental in promoting and growing the sport of platform tennis in the Sewickley area throughout her life and will be remembered by her teammates for her passion and energy on and off the court.  Her competitive, fun spirit served her well at winning many tournaments with her teams while making lifelong friends along the way. Friends will be received at Copeland Sewickley Funeral Home, 702 Beaver St., Thursday, November 14, 2024, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Brian W. Noel, STL, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
