Marlene Ebner Todd, 85, of Sewickley, passed away on November 17, 2025. The middle of five children and the oldest girl of Rita Ruth Jacobs and Louis Ebner, she spent her whole life living in the Sewickley area, graduating from Avonworth High School. She spent most of her career working for Sterling Varnish Works (later Reichold Chemical ) in Haysville and retired from Limbach Inc. She loved her job as a purchasing agent for Sterling. Her favorite activity for years was being a part of Pittsburgh Chemical Day. After “retirement” Marlene was a familiar face in Sewickley working part time at Chico’s, Talbots and J. McLaughlin. She was a member of St. James Parish in Sewickley where she served as a eucharistic minister and was a long-time member of the Women’s Guild. Marlene also volunteered at Animal Friends walking dogs– she loved dogs from an early age. She was even the beloved dogsitter for her granddog Casey. But her pride and joy were her two grandchildren Caitlin and Conor Hart, who lovingly called her “Oma.” She loved spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Richard (“Dick”) Todd, her parents, her two brothers Jerry Ebner and Louis Ebner and sister Rita Mae Ebner Caste. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hart (Michael) of Edgeworth, her cherished grandchildren Caitlin & Conor, sister Janet Ebner (Jim Zerilla) of Sarasota, FL, her sister-in-law Susie Trosky of Gibsonia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements will be handled by R.D Copeland Funeral Home. A private service for the family will be held at St. James Cemetery in Sewickley. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
