Margaret "Peggy" E. (Ross) Thompson

Margaret “Peggy” E. Thompson (Ross), 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 12th, 2022. She was born in Rochester, NY on June 4th, 1955, the daughter of Donald Ross and Katherine Ross (Brown). Known as Peggy to her friends and family, she graduated from Eastridge High School in 1973. Peggy attended Wittenberg University and later Quinnipiac University to pursue a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Peggy met Carl Thompson on the Maine coast and began a lifelong friendship. They married in 1982 in Wells, ME. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist for hospitals in Maine and Ohio. Peggy was a devoted Unitarian, and member of the Ohio Valley and Allegheny Unitarian Universalist churches where she served as Treasurer, among other positions. She also cooked shelter meals for Northside Common Ministries in Pittsburgh. Peggy is survived by her husband of forty years Carl Thompson, Moon Twp, PA; their two sons, Ben (Rebecca) Thompson, Imperial, PA; and Bryan (Mary) Thompson, Moon Twp, PA; three grandchildren, Jacob, William, and Ruth; and her sister Susan Ross, Lowell, MA. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 10th, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, 413 West North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Memorial contributions can be made in Peggy’s honor to Northside Common Ministries, Pittsburgh, PA or The American Cancer Society.
