Margaret Richert Stefanick, 74, of Neville Island was called home by the Lord on June 4, 2021. She was currently residing in Ocala, Florida with her beloved daughter, Colleen Talton, and treasured granddaughters, Desiree and Alexis Talton and Alena Ishman. The girls and their “Mia” shared a deep and special love. Peggy is also survived by her sister, Linda Richert, brother, Richard (Debbie) Richert, nephew Gregory Richert, and niece Ashley (Blaine) Mountain. She will be greatly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, and her very special Maryland family. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, John, her adoring son, Michael, and her parents, Verne and Margaret Bates Richert.
Peggy was a lifelong resident of Neville Island and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis. She was a graduate of Neville High School and remained especially close to a very special group of friends, some for nearly seventy years. She also enjoyed playing cards with another special group of friends for nearly thirty years. She worked as a bank teller in Coraopolis and McKees Rocks. She was known and loved by many bank customers over the years, always taking special care of those who needed extra help. Peggy was a leader of the Rockin’ Walkers, a team of family and friends who raised over $150,000 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She was primary caregiver to husband, John, and son, Myke, whom she lost to cancer in 2014 and 2019.
Peggy was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she committed her life to helping others. She was always there for anyone who needed her and was the person her friends and family always trusted and depended upon for love and support, help and advice. Her home was the loving center for the entire family, where they were together through good times and bad. Peggy provided unlimited love and support and hosted many holiday dinners and special celebrations. She will be forever remembered by all who knew her for her love, generosity, and gentle and sincere nature. She will be greatly missed.
