Margaret “Peggy” (Rice) Haas, a terrific mom and grandmother, passed peacefully at her home in McCandless Township, surrounded by her daughters, early on Thursday morning, May 7, 2020. She was 89. Born in Pittsburgh on August 27, 1930, she was one of four children to the late James and Mathilda (Anderson) Rice. On January 12, 2000, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Gerard Haas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings John, Sarah and James Rice. Loving mother of Deborah Schulties (Arthur), Karen Parson (the late Steve), Gregg Hass (the late Terri) and Kathleen Haas; cherished grandmother of Lauren, Daniel, Kristy, Jennifer, Joshua, Steven and Jessica; proud great grandmother Logan, Landon, Mckaela, and Jaxen; loved like a son Frank Rozinsky Jr.. Peggy loved life and was joyful person. She loved playing Bingo and every Saturday Scrabble. Mom, we will always love you and hold you in our heart. We always will hear your words, (so appropriate for today during COVID-19) “This too shall pass”. Peggy requested cremation. A celebration of life will be held later when restrictions are lifted. She will be buried with her husband in Hiland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
