Margaret Hetzer Obituary

Margaret A. Hetzer, 93, a long-time resident of Coraopolis, most recently of The Willows in Kennedy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in her home. She was born in Leetsdale on May 28, 1933, daughter of the late John and Edith (Kelly) Rigby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1985 by her beloved husband of 29 years, Leo H. Hetzer, Jr.; and her sisters Mary Louise Schaeffer, and Ruth McConkey, and her brother John Robert “Bob” Rigby. Margaret worked as a secretary for various businesses. Margaret loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church. Her greatest joy was being a mother. She loved being surrounded by her family and hearing all about each of their lives. Loving mother of Timothy (Patricia) Hetzer, Patricia (Larry) Coots, Helen (Andrew) Harding, and Kathleen (Jim) Pifko; also 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation Monday (July 6th) 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where prayers will be recited on Tuesday (July 7th) at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations may be made to a Veteran charity of your choice.
