Margaret E. Diehl Crow, aged 97, passed away in Sewickley, Pa, on Friday, July 18, 2025. Born in Point Marion, PA on September 14, 1927, to Harry & Margaret Stammler Diehl, Margaret was a descendant of Robert Britt, Philadelphia area shipbuilder & Revolutionary War soldier. Throughout life, she remained faithful to her humble beginnings and her family and friends of Blosser Hill and the Point Marion community.
Following WWII Margaret married Fred T. Guseman, with whom she had four children. Their family resettled in Wadsworth, OH, chosen for the benefit of a strong education for the children. After Fred’s passing in 1969, Margaret earned degrees from Northern Virginia Community College, and subsequently served as the director of housekeeping at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD, as well as at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD.
Margaret married Jack H. Crow on December 17, 1983, in Cabin John, Maryland, enriching her life through their extended families. Retiring from Frederick with Jack, they lived successively in Gettysburg, PA, Maui, HI, Phoenix, AZ, Morgantown, WV, Cross Keys, PA, and Elizabethtown, PA, where, on April 19, 2025, she lost her devoted husband who had obtained the age of 100.
Margaret was a devout Christian, avid reader, book club member, dedicated walker, swimmer, & water exercise enthusiast.
In addition to her husband Jack, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Stanley Winfield Diehl and Raymond Elwood Diehl, and son, Robert Alan Guseman (dec. 2014). Surviving are her three daughters, Debra Ellen Rush (Richard), Sharon Gail Wall (John), & Rebecca Dian Harris (Richard), stepsons David Alan Crow (Maggie), Randall Gordon Crow (Liz), Steven Murray Crow (Kaye Jeanne Newberry), 15 beloved grandchildren, 10 beloved great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will welcome friends at Lake Lynn Chapel, at 516 Lake Lynn Road, Lake Lynn, PA, on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 11:00am for a remembrance and celebration of life ceremony.
