Malik Patterson Obituary

Malik Patterson was a bright and cheerful child who loved life. He was brought into this world on September 1, 2019 by Michelle Walker and Anthony Patterson.
His days were spent surrounded by his loving mother, and doting maternal sisters, along with family and friends that Malik touched in some way throughout his short, yet memorable life. His gentle smile, and boisterous laughter could melt the hearts of those around him. Inclusive of him being autistic, and communicating differently, he eagerly learned words and songs in seven different languages, and his thoughts and voice could always be heard. Malik was the epitome of perseverance, brilliance, and determination. He did not let his disability hold him back. Instead, he guided us to learn how to view the world through his eyes. And he surely shined!

Malik’s spirit should remind us that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create everlasting memories, regardless of our circumstances or situations.
He enjoyed music, by singing and dancing-“Baby Shark”, “Stand By Me”, by Ben. E. King, Gracie’s Corner”, “Babar”, and Sabrina Carpenter songs, were
some of his favorites. He loved toy cars, and imitating the vroom-vroom sounds. He was passionate about animals as well; Old McDonald’s Farm had nothing on Malik’s E-I-E-I-O! He loved to explore at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium, the Carnegie Science Center, and the local parks, being especially fond of the elephants, turtles, swinging on the swings, and going down the slides with glee.
He humbly lead our Goodnight Prayer, at the end of our days at bedtime.

On August 11, 2025, the Most High called Malik to His side. Though we may not understand why he was called so soon, may we find comfort in knowing that his Aunt Christy welcomed him and holds him close, and that he is running around, having a great time away from peril, and filled with bliss. Let us remember him for the joy he brought to our lives, and to our hearts.
Malik is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Marcella Miles, paternal grandfather Anthony “Tommy” Patterson, and his Aunt Christy Miles. Left to mourn him are his parents: his mother, Michelle Walker and Robert “Daddy Rob”Walker; father Anthony Patterson, sisters: Marielle Miles, Malina Miles, Marley Walker, Marlowe Walker, Gabrielle Patterson, and Nyla Ryan; brothers: Javon Patterson, Jeremiah Ryan, and Machai Patterson; grandparents: Edward and Yvette Peterson; aunt and uncle Joseph and Grisel Miles and family; aunt and uncle Nicole and Robert Martin; and a host of cousins, other family members and dear friends.
