Louise Celio Wilken, Age 98, most recently a resident of Apple Blossom in Moon Twp, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Born in Pittsburgh on July 24, 1926, Louise was the daughter of the late Dominic and Angeline Celio. Beloved wife of the late Dr. M.A. “Such” Wilken who preceded her in death in 1993. Loving mother of Patty Wilken (Bill Czyzewicz), Thomas (Vicki) Wilken and the late Joyce Wilken (late Philip) Minkley. Sister of the late Diane (Robert) Rhodes and Frank “Francesco” Dominic Celio. Grandmother of Maxwell, Jackson and Elizabeth Wilken, Chris (Morgan) Coates, Katie Coates (DJ) DeWitt, Scott Minkley, Katie (Marc) Pisall, and Andrea (Tony) VonHalle. Great-grandmother of Addison & Porter Coates, Wesley & Easton DeWitt, Grant Pisall and Dylan & Cameron VonHalle. Louise earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1943 and her master’s degree in education in 1946. She went on to teach in both the Coraopolis and Moon Area School districts. In her spare time, Louise loved the game of golf and could be found walking the fairways even in her 90’s. She even took home the Montour Heights Country Club Championship in 1975. A devoted sports fan, Louise loved all Pittsburgh teams and all of her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s teams too. Friends will be received at Apple Blossom Senior Living, 125 Apple Blossom Way, Moon Twp, PA 15108 on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The celebration for Louise will continue Friday evening at 7pm at Pirmanti Bro's in Moon Twp, 8651 University Blvd, Moon Twp, PA 15108. Burial will be held privately at the Resurrection Cemetery.
