Louise Jones

Ellen Louise Jones  - 11/9/1932 – 5/18/2025

Age 92, born of Sewickley, Ellen Louise Jones peacefully passed at home Sunday, May 18, 2025. The oldest of eleven children, Louise was preceded in death by parents Howard L. and Helen (Vonsick) Jones; brothers Joseph, Leroy, John and Andrew Jones; and sisters Pat (Charles) Eyerman and Shirley (Joseph) Funk. She is survived by sisters Janet Jones and Ruth (Mike) Yankello, and brothers Don (Marian) and Ken (Barb) Jones; her 18 loving nieces and nephews and their many children. Louise’s kindness and generosity touched her extensive family and community throughout her life. She never let anyone feel forgotten – staying in touch with family via calls, cards, and laughing on the porch or checking in on neighbors and entertaining their children when needed. A soft-spoken lover of animals (in particular, dogs Chelsea, Mandy, Maggie and Joey), reading, photographs and flowers, Louise worked more than 40 years at Allegheny Plastics in Coraopolis as a supervisor and supported several nonprofits. Family meant everything to her, serving as the Jones family matriarch and keeper of our (and Sewickley) history for decades. Her strong faith in God guided her and she was a wonderful example of His unconditional love. She taught us all to love first rather than judge, and look for the positive in others. She embodied the word “lovely” and will be greatly missed.
