Louis Roger Valente, a family man, a friend, and a stalwart Republican of Aleppo Township/Sewickley, formerly of New York, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian. Roger was born on November 17, 1944, in Bronx, NY, to the late Pasquale and Eleanor (Costello) Valente. He married the love of his life, Patricia Bova, on July 12, 1969, and they had 54 years of happiness. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Lisa Valente and Holly Valente Teegarden, and husband Michael; adored grandfather of Troy William Mackey, Jr. and wife Morgan, Christopher John Mackey and fiancée Maria, and Sarah Nicole Maust; cherished great grandfather of Vivienne Bennett Mackey, Troy William Mackey III, and Baby Mackey on the way expected in May 2024. Roger was a retired New York City Transit Police Officer and serial entrepreneur. He was a proud American and even more proud to be a lifelong Republican. He served his community as a leader within the party both locally and regionally. He also enjoyed giving back to the Meals on Wheels organization. He was involved because he cared. Roger and his wife were members of Regina Coeli Parish, Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Roger served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard. His greatest loves were Family, Friends, Food, and his fellow Republicans, and sometimes the order priority would change. Sprague Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202 for Mass on Saturday (Oct. 28th) at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
