Lorraine Barr

Lorraine Barr; Age 90, most recently of Huntsville, AR passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026. Born in McKees Rocks, PA on March 4, 1936, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Patricia Marie and Paul Albert Barr, Sr. She was the cherished mother of Susane (Meanor) Gruning (Michael), John Meanor, Sr., Judith Meanor and Michael Johnson, Sr., (Barb), and the late L. Richard Meanor, Daryl Meanor, Russell Meanor and Amy (Johnson) Tua. Grandmother of Jessica (Meanor) Jones, Jordan Monahan, Evan Monahan, Hannah Meanor, John Meanor, Jr., Michael Johnson, Jr., Danie Cisneros and Crystal Dickson. Also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine attended Blessed Sacrament School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her life in the Pittsburgh area, calling Sewickley, Bellevue, and Coraopolis home. Later in life, she moved to Wichita, Kansas, to be closer to her daughter, and eventually with her daughter and her husband to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

After raising eight children, Lorraine returned to school and proudly earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree. Always concerned for others came naturally to her, and nursing allowed her to continue doing what she loved most. 

Lorraine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved listening to music and sports on the radio, especially Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games or really any baseball games. She showed a competitive but gentle side in playing cards, always showing a move that may have been missed. She was intrigued with puzzles, crafts and creating beautiful embroidery. Even into her 90’s, Lorraine took care to get dressed every morning and rarely without a piece of jewelry, her watch and a touch of lipstick.

Above all, Lorraine's greatest love was her family. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally. She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, and wonderfully dry sense of humor. Her love, strength, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley on Monday, June 29th from 12 – 3 pm and 5 – 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis on Tuesday, June 30th at 9am followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Pittsburgh Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
