Loretta Glenn Laffey, age 85, of Moon Township passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ on February 4, 1939, the daughter of the late George and Sylvia Glenn. She was the devoted wife of the late Leo L. Laffey, Sr., and beloved sister to the late George Glenn. Loretta is survived by her son Leo (Becky) Laffey, Jr. of Moon Township and her daughter Melissa (Chris) Cooper of East Lyme, CT. Proud grandmother to Meredith Cooper and Ethan Cooper of East Lyme, CT and Tommy Elchin of Moon Township. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Marty Laffey of Torrance, CA. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
After graduating high school, she spent her early years in Atlantic City cutting and styling hair at her mother’s hair salon. Once married and settled in Moon Township, she was a stay-at-home mother.
She enjoyed her life with her husband and her children. She was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Moon Township. Loretta was a dedicated volunteer for the local Meals on Wheels and the West Hills Food Pantry. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret Mary Church and visited patients at Sewickley Hospital.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Apple Blossom in Moon Township and Suncrest Hospice who cared for Loretta during her final days.
Friends and family will be received at R. D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm where a Funeral Prayer will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Mary Church at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, Loretta has desired that donations be sent to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 100 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
