Loretta Mae Hopper of Sewickley passed away on Monday October 27 at Masonic Villages of Sewickley. Born in 1938 in Bishop she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara (Zupancic) Turk.
Loretta was an inspirational woman. She was a stage IV breast cancer survivor of 1977 enduring experimental doses of chemo and radiation to help pave the way for current therapies. She found her strength in God and her family. She was a close friend to many and found joy in helping others. Whether it was making cookies for weddings, organizing family reunions, supporting her son’s hockey games, traveling or just listening to a friend, she brought a smile to those around her. In the past few years, she enjoyed playing “words with friends” and building puzzles with her friends at Masonic Village.
Loretta is survived by her children Lori Ann (Wes) Gleason of Bonita Springs, Fl, Patrick (Sylvie) Hopper of Dallas, TX and Jakarta Indonesia, Michael (April) Hopper of Sewickley, Pa and Shawn Hopper of Carlisle, Pa. Grandchildren Keith (Jen) Gleason, Meghan (Austin) Buonsignore, Shannon (Sean) Lynch, Katie Hopper, Morgan Hopper, Drew Hopper and Lily Hopper. She is survived by four great grandchildren, Leonard, Cassandra, Paxton and Jacklyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hopper, Esq and siblings William Turk and Olive Faure.
Visitation will be on Friday Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 pm and Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9:30 until the time of Funeral Prayers at 11:30 am, at Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Rd., Moon Township followed by a funeral Mass at Noon at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, One Parish Place, Moon Township. Interment will be at St Mary’s Church Cemetery in Cecil following the Mass.
