Lois P. (Baird) Neely

Lois P. (Baird) Neely, 93, of Oakdale, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at her home with her whole family by her side.  A “firecracker” from birth, she was born in Derry, PA on July 4, 1925 to the late Fred S. and June R. (McCurdy) Baird. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Robert L. Neely. She was also predeceased by her siblings Garnet Smola, Dorothy Fleckenstein, Fred Baird and Donald Baird. She is the beloved mother of Judith A. (Richard) McEwen of New Sewickley Twp.,  Bonnie (Gary) Thompson of Hanover Twp., and Marsha R. Bajus of Oakdale; also survived by sister-in-law Shirley (the late Fred) Baird of Brookfield, OH and  brothers Wayne Baird of Coraopolis, Glenn Baird of Crescent and Lloyd (Carol) Baird of Ormond Beach, FL; cherished grandmother of Michelle (Jordan) Leonberg, Richard (Lori) McEwen, Jedidiah (Candice) Thompson, Abigail (Tyler) Brooks, and Melissa (Richard) Bigelow; proud great grandmother of Richard & Justin McEwen, Gabriel, Evely & Reegan Thompson, Hosea & Neely Brooks and Jordan & Mia Leonberg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was retired from Gladieux In Flight Food Services for U.S. Air and had been a long-time care-giver to Gregg Mikulla, and Alaina & Nicolette Stroud, as well as other family members including mother, uncles and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 1-3, 5-8 and Friday from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Her son-in-law, Gary Thompson, will conduct the service. Private burial, with her children, will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery.
