Linda G. Shortz

Linda G. Shortz, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. She was born the daughter of the late Otto Franz and Grace Johnson Shortz. She was the dear aunt of Christopher (Theresa) Shortz, Joianne (David) Smith, and Laura (Daniel) Delehanty. She is also survived by her 6 great nieces and nephews and many friends whom she considered family.  She was preceded in death by her brother, William Shortz.  Linda was a true caretaker her whole life. She became a nurse and worked for over 50 years, initially at Magee Hospital and later in her career at Sewickley Hospital.  Upon her retirement, she continued to care for others and was actively engaged in her community.   Linda was also very devoted to her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sewickley. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Saturday, December 21st  from 10 – 11 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 616 Washington Street, Sewickley, PA 15143 where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 am. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda’s name may be made to the Shortz Family Scholarship Fund, Immanuel Lutheran Church, 131 West Main Street, Webster, NY 14580. Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, Sewickley.
