Lawrence Frederick Grundy, II, 67, a resident of Coraopolis for most of his life, passed unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Larry was born on May 15, 1954 in Elyria, OH, one of three children to Helen (Murphy) and Lawrence Frederick Grundy. Larry was a man who loved his country, walked quietly with nature, connoisseur of history, and paid attention to detail meticulously with painting figurines. Larry served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years in operations and as a clerk for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Larry always put his family first, supporting his son’s events, never missing a one, and he had an open-door policy with all the neighborhood kids. In addition to his surviving parents, Larry was the beloved husband for 42 years of Cynthia (Scott) Grundy; loving father of Will Grundy (Kayla) and Nick Grundy; proud grandfather of Marley, Calvin, and Capri; brother of Lori Shannon (Kim) and Tom Grundy (Teresa); uncle of Mike Shannon, Ryan Shannon, Sarah Shannon, Shelby Grundy and Patrick Grundy. Visitation Thursday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave.
