Larry Joe Young, of Crescent Township since 2018, formerly of St. Michael’s, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his residence. Born in Charleston, WV on February 2, 1946, he was one of six children to the late Wardley and Nellie (Harmon) Young. Beloved husband for 57 years to Nancy (Wheeler) Young; loving father of Sherry Jo Romano (Dwayne) and Michael David Young (Crystal); proud PapPap of Connor, Colton and Marinna Romano; brother of Sally Goings (the late Jack); also, his beloved Yellow Lab, Maggie, now in heaven with him; and his well-loved grand dogs Wardley, Layla, Dudley, Ranger and Kirby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Joanne Hammond (the late Bob), Wilma Alidai, Robert Young (the late Sue), and Richard Young (the late Joy). Larry was a foreman for PEPCO in Washington DC for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. Larry was a man who loved to help others. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Maryland as well as Talbot County Therapeutic Riding. He was a car buff, who sported a 1955 forest green chevy, loved car cruises and especially loved driving his grandchildren in parades. His grandchildren were very precious to him. Every chance he got to spend time with them was cherished, like golfing with the boys. He and his wife enjoyed traveling yearly to St. Martin Island along with trips to Cuba for “the cars” and a few ocean cruises. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave.
