Kriztine Nelson Obituary

Kriztine was born May 10, 1973, in Sewickley Valley Hospital, a “twin”. She passed suddenly at her home on her birthday in Moon Township at the age of 50. She grew up in Coraopolis and was educated in the Cornell School education system, where she graduated in 1992. In June, 1993, Kriztine’s twin sister, Janine, gave birth to her daughter, Jordyn Taylor Lee. Kriztine automatically became Godmother to Jordyn, who she loved and cherished with all her heart and soul.

Kriztine was a very hard worker and held positions at Giant Eagle, Fairfield Inn and Bridgestreet. At the time of her death, she was working at Hillview Homes on Cornell Street, Coraopolis, PA. She was very handy with tools and did many projects around her home, as well as always helping Janine, Jordyn and her mom whenever they asked.

In year 2000, Kriztine moved to Jefferson City, Missouri, where she held a few jobs. In 2004, Kriztine married Shawn Nelson and became stepmother to Bryanna, Sophia and Madeline Nelson, who she loved with all her heart.

In 2009, Kriztine returned home to Coraopolis to take care of her dad who had a brief illness. She decided to stay in Coraopolis and Shawn stayed in Missouri. They remained friends to this day and Shawn said they talked frequently. Their last conversation was the Sunday before she passed. Kriztine loved her family and would do anything for anyone who needed her help (family and friends). She also loved her “fur baby”, Ivy, her beloved pit bull.

Kriztine was preceded in death by her twin sister, Janine, on September 7, 2021, which devastated her. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents. She leaves to carry her memory her mother, Deborah J. Lee; father, John T. Lee, Sr. (Shelly); brother, John T. Lee, Jr. (Brandy); Goddaughter/niece, Jordyn T. Lee; husband, Shawn Nelson and stepchildren, Bryanna, Sophia and Madeline Nelson; step-brothers Sheldon, Joshua Hawkins and step-sister Tyler Hawkins; half-brothers Brandon and Brian Washington and half-sister Brooke Washington; two Godmothers Claudine and Claudia Frye of Maryland; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Kriztine will be truly missed by her family and friends. Her smile and laugh will be cherished memories to all who knew and loved her.

Viewing will be held at Copeland Funeral Home, 867 5th Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108 on Thursday 2-4, 6-8 with funeral service on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Sewickley Cemetery where she will lay in eternal rest beside her beloved twin sister, Janine. Gone too soon, never ever forgotten.
