Kevin L. Eckelberry

Kevin L. Eckelberry, 71, would proudly brag that he was a Mooncrest boy through and through, passed away peacefully at his home with his family present on Monday, October 27, 2025. Kevin was born in Kennedy Township, PA on July 24, 1954, one of two sons to the late James and Edith (Malloy) Eckelberry. Beloved husband for 44 years to Robin (Horst) Eckelberry who he always referred to her as “His Bride”; loving father of Mary Jane Eckelberry (Cullen) and the late Ryan J. Eckelberry; proud grandfather of Hunter J. Eckelberry and Robin Ann Solomon; brother-in-law to Thomas and Susan (Crowell) Horst, Terry (Horst) Capuzzi and the late Arthur Capuzzi; brother of the late Clifford Eckelberry; also, many aunts, cousins and amazing friends.

Kevin was a 1973 graduate of Moon Area High School. He loved Old Western Movies and all kinds of music, especially his area codes. He made friends easily, young and old. He had a brain that was sharp as a tack, and he never forgot anything or anyone. A storyteller at heart, he could weave a tale from just about anything.Kevin was a man of strong character who fought cancer for many years until he just got tired. At times he was grumpy, and others he was the life of the party.  Kevin could be found relaxing on his porch with a beer and his beloved dog, Jack with the radio playing. Visitation Sunday 2-6 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Avenue during which Kevin’s life will be celebrated with relatives and friends with sharing stories and thoughts.
