Kathryn Roth Obituary

Kathryn S. Roth of Moon Township passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020 at the age of 98. Born in Galveston, TX on September 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn and Frank Stansberry. She obtained her B.S. in Elementary Education from Maryland College for Women and her Master’s Degree from University of Pittsburgh. She was faithfully involved in her church, Sharon Community Presbyterian Church. Kathryn was also a member of the Moon Area Senior Citizens Association, Eastern Star Ft. Vance Chapter 550, and a lifetime member of NEA and PSEA. She was a first-grade teacher at Carnot and Allard in Moon Area School District for 43 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond D. Roth in 2011. Kathryn was the definition of a true lady and will be missed greatly.

Kathryn is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Roth of Moon Township, nieces Theresa Moore and Amy Melendy (David) both of Knoxville, TN, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and dear friend Toni Demarco of Chippewa. In addition to her husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister Julianne Balitsaris and brother-in-law George Balitsaris.

Due to CDC recommendations, services for Kathryn will be held privately.
