Kathleen (Kathy) Kinneman, age 83, died Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born and raised in Esplen. She was the daughter of the late Helen and Charles McClain. Her late husband, Raymond Kinneman, was a proud iron worker (Local #3) and constable.
She is survived by her four children: Raymie, Rhaeann, Lynn and Kelly. She was a loving memaw to her grandchildren; Alexander, Kathleen, Loree and Elyse. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren; Riley, Cole, Nico, Bella and Lily. She is survived by her brothers, Ronald McClain and Chuck McClain (Cindy), and their beloved families. Kathy was also a proud aunt to her honorary nieces, Heather and Amber Tresky.
Kathy spent a large part of her life volunteering for the community of Esplen. She worked tirelessly to ensure the Esplen Citizen’s Council and Community Center operated for the neighborhood. Along with her best friends, Gerri Tresky and the late Roberta Miller, she was able to accomplish everything she set out to do. Every idea started at her dining room table. Food distribution, community center activities, summer programs, and so much more happened because of Kathy. For years, during her busy days, she babysat kids in the community so their parents could work. Everything she did and contributed had lasting effects. She never did anything for praise or acceptance; she did it because she knew it needed to be done.
We know she is in heaven now. She is sitting at a dining room table, drinking tea or coffee with her friend Roberta, planning something great.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions of “cereal” to the Coraopolis Food Bank. At her request, no funeral services will be held. Giving to the community is the example she set. Providing a child with a simple bowl of cereal is something we can do. Her son has kept that example alive by collecting for the food bank. You can donate if you knew her, loved her, were helped by her, or just want to feed a child. It is important that we take this opportunity to honor her legacy. You can drop off donations at the Coraopolis Food Bank in her name or at Emma Jean’s Relics in Coraopolis during business hours.
Arrangements entrusted to R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Coraopolis.
