Judy (Knittel) Strouse, 56, fun loving, kind, great daughter, wife, mother and sister, a Coraopolis resident most of her life, passed away peacefully with her family present, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at her home. Judy was born in Pittsburgh on September 16, 1965, daughter of Judith Gould and the late John Knittel. Judy married the love of her life on August 21, 2010, Fred L. Strouse. Fred passed on October 30, 2020. Judy was the proud owner, operator, and chef of Choog’s Restaurant located on Neville Island, until it closed in 2006. Everyone loved an invite from Judy for family gatherings and barbecues. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed making jewelry/beads and watching Little House on the Prairie and spending time with her dog Jimmy. In addition to her mother, she is survived by sons Michael Gionfriddo and Levi Armstrong; sister Barbara McCutcheon; brothers John “Jack” Knittel and Harry Knittel; along with many loving friends. Judy’s family is planning a service at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Judy’s name to an animal shelter of your choice.
