Joyce (Tarasi) Sarricks

Mary Joyce Sarricks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1937, in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, she was one of two cherished daughters of the late Bertha and Orest D. Tarasi.

Joyce’s life was defined by kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family. She was married to Howard Sarricks who preceded her in death, with whom she built a loving home and raised four children: Karen (Dean) Groetzinger of Idaho Falls, Idaho; David Sarricks of Datil, New Mexico; Dawna (Jim) Keeley of McDonald, Pennsylvania; and Kristine Sarricks of Madison, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to Andrea (Nick) Nicolayeff and Lauren (Matt) Gibson; Jim (Alli) Keeley and Lindsay (Andrew) Link, and a doting great-grandmother to Avery, Nicolas, and Nolan Nicolayeff; Roxanne Gibson, and Lucas Link. Joyce also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Corfield of Tustin, California.

A woman of many talents, Joyce found joy in gardening, sewing, crafting, and reading. She loved to travel and explore, but her greatest passion was always her family, who will forever treasure her sweet nature, her humor, and her compassionate spirit.

Joyce was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis, where she worshipped and nurtured her faith. She also enjoyed staying active through exercise and was admired for her cheerful outlook on life.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 981 Broadhead Road, Moon Township, PA 15108, where a funeral prayer will be held at 9:15 am on Monday, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis at 10 am. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.

Joyce’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
