Joy Ed, Of Sewickley, born April 13, 1954, after a long and courageous battle with Illness entered into the promise of eternal life July 7, 2025. Joy’s life centered around her great love, David Michael Ed, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage and raised one daughter and two sons. She considered being the “Mimi” of nine grandchildren to be one of her life’s greatest blessings.
Having lived in various parts of the country throughout the years, Joy always created a home that flourished with grace, beauty, and hospitality, the doors of which were continually open to family, friends, and new acquaintances.
She held a deep love for people, and her strong belief in the goodness within others was second only to her sympathy for those who may have suffered from the tension between light and darkness. Her inner strength was herculean, her human kindness as broad as the ocean, her diligence unending, her intelligence far reaching, and like a star shining in the night she required no reason to shine.
Until one day reunited on the other side, her loss will be most heavily born by those whom she loved most dearly, but the influence of her grace and the impression of her love will never fade away.
