Josephine V. (Ragan) Obusek

Josephine “Josie” Obusek, 89, of Robinson Twp., went home to the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Apple Blossom Senior Living.  Born in Pittsburgh on July 22, 1931, Josie a graduate of Stowe High School 1949, was a member of St. Marks RC Church in McKees Rocks, PA until moving to Robinson Twp. and joined the Holy Trinity RC Church.  She volunteered as an AARP Secretary for over 10 years and enjoyed reading, she also enjoyed aerobics and traveling around the country to visit friends and relatives while sightseeing. Josie enjoyed cooking and baking her many family favorites, pierogis, stuffed cabbage, paska bread and nut-rolls to name a few.  She was also a talented seamstress making fun clothes and even baby doll clothes for family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John (1996) and her five siblings.

Josie will be remembered and missed by her sons, Dave (Andrea) Obusek and Don (Hilda) Obusek; her grandchildren, Kristine and Kim, Dana and Nick; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Tate, and John. 

Friends will be received Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Copeland’s, 981 Brodhead, Moon Twp., where morning prayers will be said Friday at 10:15am before proceeding to Archangel Gabriel Parish (Holy Trinity-Steubenville Pike Road) for Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Josie’s memory to Amedisys Hospice, 480 Johnson Rd Suite 230, Washington, PA 15301 so that they can continue to provide wonderful care to many families.
