Joseph L. Phillips, 82, a long-time resident of Neville Island, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Joseph was born in Bellevue on December 18, 1943, one of four children to the late Robert and Henrietta Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his beloved wife of 54 years, Brenda Smith Phillips along with his siblings Robert “Moe” Phillips, Darlene Buchanan, and Richard “Wack” Phillips. Beloved father of Joseph W. Phillips and wife, Tracy; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey “JT” Phillips and Ashlea Phillips. Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Vietnam War. He retired after 30+ years, in 1993 as a printer for Deluxe Checks located in Robinson Township. Post retirement, he worked as a detailer for #1 Cochran and Joe Ball GMC. He loved trains and enjoyed collecting them. He also was a great supporter of the Neville Island Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Neville Island Fire Department in his name. Service for Mr. Phillips will be private with inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
