     Johnny Edward Turner was born to the parents John Henry and Ann Liza Stevenson Turner in Aliquippa, PA on December 9, 1957. During his childhood years, he attended elementary school in both Sewickley and Ambridge, PA. Johnny was an entrepreneur at the age of nine years old, where he worked for Mrs. Hueler at the bakery in Sewickley, PA, to deliver baked goods to the local community. He also obtained additional employment as a taxi dispatch operator.

     While attending Ambridge High School, he was employed at J & L Steel Corporation. Johnny was licensed as a Security Officer and worked at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA and later went into the Private Security Sector of an Officer for years. Johnny Edward Turner was a Gourmet Chef in his own right. He began baking with his Mother and developed a natural talent. He was a famous for his Buttermilk Pancakes, “No Sin A-Bun Yeast Rolls, his delicious Chocolate Cake, and his delightful “Grandma Lucy Poundcake” (named after his Grandmother). Johnny’s Chocolate Chip Cookies and Brownies were a family favorite and his tasty Christmas selection was a joy to his family and friends. Johnny was a Barbecue Pit Master and well known in the family for cooking anything and making it delicious.

Johnny Turner gave his life to the Lord at an early age. Baptized and received the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as an adult. He accepted the call as a Minister in 2008 at Living Waters Holiness Church in Center, PA under the leadership of Pastor Johnetta McClure. He later on established Turner Ministries with his Wife Elder Darlene Turner.

Johnny E. Turner departed this life on May 16, 2022 at EnCompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, PA. He was supported by his loving Wife and family during the last days of his life. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother John Henry and Ann Liza Stevenson Turner, oldest Brother John and Sister in Law Deborah Turner and Brother William Turner.

Johnny’s legacy is to be carried on by: Wife, Darlene Turner of Sewickley, PA; Children, Devon and Jess Turner of Steubenville, OH; Grandchildren, James Turner, Nina Turner, Jess Turner Jr., Giovanni Turner, and Mykayla Turner all of Steubenville, OH; Brothers, Fred Turner and Frank Turner of Ambridge, PA; Uncles George Turner Sr. and Isaac Turner Sr. of Columbus, MS; Stepdaughters, Dairfaye (David) Taylor and Damawi McGhee; Stepson, Tamawi McGhee; Stepgrandchildren, Jabari, Arshai, Kambrionna, Marque Taylor, Domenic Thomas McGhee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Bestfriend Chris Mallory and several other friends.

Visitation Tuesday 4-8 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Burial will be at 2 PM at Greenwood Cemetery.
