John “Jack” McCambridge; Of Moon Twp, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Monday, February 9, 2026.Son of the late John J & Katherine (Palinski) McCambridge. Son-in Law of the late Russell D & Ann (Matta) Wehrer. Best friend and cherished loving husband of 37 years to Diane (Wehrer) McCambridge. Brother of the late Janet Martin and James McCambridge (surviving spouse Jayne). Brother-in-law of David (Susan) Wehrer, Mark (Debbie) Wehrer and the late Daniel Wehrer (surviving spouse Cheryl). Special Godfather to Anne Marie Beattie and Victoria “Tori” Rosenwald. Special loving uncle to Cassie Culp and Alyssa Lineberry and loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Jack was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School. After high school, Jack joined the United States Air Force and served his country as Military Police for 4 years. After his enlistment was over, he went back to school on the G.I. Bill to the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He worked as a Pittsburgh City Police Officer for 20 years. Taught at Pittsburgh Police Academy. While working for the city, he taught EMT & Paramedic at CCAC campuses. After working for the city, Jack worked Corporate Security for Westinghouse before eventually moving on to the Allegheny County Police where he worked at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and later became an instructor at the Allegheny County Police Academy. The Family would like to Thank Good Samaritan Hospice for all care that they have given him. Special Thanks to Colleen and Spencer, R. N.s', and Diane, Nurse's Aide. Friends will be received at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Road, on Wednesday, February 11th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. F.O.P. Services will be Wednesday at 7 pm at the Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 12th at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Twp at 10 am. Interment with military honors will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery.
