John T. Zebroski, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Christian, and part of the greatest generation, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was 101. Born in Turtle Creek, PA. on June 15, 1919, he was one of five children to the late Thomas and Amelia (Krakowiak) Zebroski. On December 21, 2008, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Geraldine (Andrews) Zebroski. In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by his amazing and talented granddaughter Lara Gass; and his four siblings Sophie Slat, Loretta Pasko, Robert, and Stephen Zebroski.
John, a graduate of Robert Morris Business School, retired from Robert Morris University where he had been the Registrar for 40 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European theater. He was a faithful member of Sharon Community Presbyterian Church. Always involved, he was a member of the 20-year club at Robert Morris University, Moon Township AARP, Moon Area Senior Association, and the VFW Post 402.
John is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Edward Cross of Moon Township and Gerri Lynn and Jay Gass of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; four grandchildren Thomas Cross, Derek (Paula) Cross, Christopher Gass and Jason (Emily) Gass; one great granddaughter Katherine “Katie” Gass.
Visitation Thursday (July 9) 2-7PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where service will be held on Friday (July 10) at 10 AM. Officiating will be his nephew, Rev. William Green. Burial will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery with full military honors.
