John Varkonda

John Varkonda, age 81, of Sewickley passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.  He was the son of the late John and Mary Varkonda; beloved father of Christine (Craig) Clay; dear grandfather of Lillian, Beatrice and Wyatt Clay; brother of Victoria (Robert) Greco. John graduated from Geneva College and worked for Columbia Gas for 30 years as an engineer. He was an avid golfer and Steelers fan and was quite proficient in home improvement projects. Friends will be received at R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley on Friday from 1 – 2 pm for a celebration of John’s life. The celebration will conclude with a Funeral Service at 2 pm.
