John W. Underwood, Jr.

John W. Underwood, Jr. age 96, a Crescent Township resident for over 65 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Heritage Valley Sewickley. He was born in McDonald, PA on March 15, 1930, son of the late John and Margaret (Doyle) Underwood.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on November 19, 2023, by his cherished son, Brian A. Underwood. Beloved husband for 69 years to Dorothy (Maga) Underwood; well loved brother of Sandra Iskey, Shirley Longstreth, the late Charles “Chum” Underwood and Patricia Morrison. Also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews. John was a steelworker for J & L Steel. At the age of 92, he was still working at the PA Motor Speedway in Imperial. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John was a car guru. He loved his 1968 Ford Truck and had several Mustangs. He was an avid car racing fan and a NASCAR enthusiast. He not only loved to watch but loved to work on cars! Visitation Saturday (June 27th) at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. from 11 AM until 12:45 PM when we will process to Sewickley Cemetery Mausoleum for services at 1:15 PM.
