John Michael Montefusco

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, John Michael Montefusco Sr., loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 85. 

John was born in Springfield, MA, and was one of two children to Frank and Josephine Montefusco. John was a proud veteran of the US Navy where he served for 6 years on the USS Forrestal. After being honorably discharged, John became a servant of the people, holding many years as a devoted police officer and firefighter in the state of Massachusetts before moving to Pittsburgh to become a tractor-trailer driver for FedEx. At FedEx, he made lifelong friends and navigated the highways of Pennsylvania. In his retirement years, he could be found at George's Diner and Eat'n Park eating strawberry pancakes and sharing stories with friends, while trading currency like it was baseball cards. Other pastimes include playing Solitaire, watching Gunsmoke, sunbathing, and spending time on the couch with his wife of 40 years.

John is survived by his loving wife Kathy, son John (Darah), and brother Frank (Linda) Montefusco. 

Funeral service and interment private. Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland, Inc., Moon Township.
