John James McKenzie

John James McKenzie, 83, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 at New Hope Gracious Care Personal Care Facility.

Born August 13, 1942, he was the son of the late James and Helen McKenzie. John is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Michelle, and his longtime companion, Linda Kinnear. He is survived by his children, Darryl (Renee’), Deborah Smitsky, and Brian; his siblings, James McKenzie, Mary Ann Keller, and Patricia Martin; and his cherished grandchildren, Brandon (Haley), Brooke, Alyssa and Skylar, and Linda’s grandson, Justin.

John was a proud member of the Laborers Union for 50 years and a devoted fan of all Pittsburgh sports.

John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at New Hope Gracious Care and Commonwealth Hospice for the kindness, comfort, and care they provided throughout his time there.

 In accordance with John’s wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Inc.
