John J. Kevish

John J. Kevish, age 80, of Moon Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Beloved husband of 55 years of Joanne (Mehalich) Kevish; loving father of John (Tina) Kevish, Jody (Shawn) Kevish, Julie Kevish, Jeffrey Kevish and Justin Kevish; brother of Joann Hamer and Richard (Diane) Kevish and the late Joseph (late Deborah) Kevish. John was a precision grinder for Pittsburgh Gear on Neville Island for 36 years and, upon their closing, went to work for Hy-Tech Machine in Cranberry.  He was a truly dedicated, loving and supporting husband to Joanne, caring for all her needs throughout all her challenges and disabilities, from cooking dinner every night using Joanne’s recipes from scratch to hosting Sunday family dinners. The whole family came and enjoyed themselves. Beyond being husband and caretaker, he was a fun dad, doing silly things with the kids, playing in the rain, building homemade kites from wood and paper, making small houses and trains to put under the Christmas tree, and, until recently, having cookouts in the backyard. He loved nature, birds, and being outside in the woods.  John and Joanne’s evenings usually wound down the same way, listening to all sorts of music before bed. He was a devote long time member of St. Margaret Mary Church and Men’s Group. He was a special guy and will be missed.  Friends will be received at R. D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Town ship on Sunday from 2 – 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Margaret Mary Church on Monday at 12 noon. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) The family suggests donation in John’s name to the Heart Association.
