JoAnn (Calipari) Lewandowski,85, of Hopewell, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Heritage Valley Beaver. JoAnn was born on June 10, 1939, in Coraopolis, PA, one of five children born to the late John and M. Stella (Zannino) Calipari. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Roseann Galliher and Mary Block. She is survived by her sister Julia Collins and brother Vince Calipari. Cherished aunt of Terri Geary, John Calipari, Lea Angeline, Randy Galliher, Scott Collins, Tim Block, Mark Block, David Block and John Block; also, many great nieces and great nephews. JoAnn was a devout member of St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis. She had been employed by Fisher Control and Calgon Carbon. She was the clerk during the decommission of the Nuclear Plant in Shippingport. For enjoyment, JoAnn was an avid sports fan and an animal lover, especially cats. Words that come to mind when we think of JoAnn, quiet, respectful, religious and intelligent. We will all miss her. Visitation Thursday (November 14th) 4-8 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where Blessing Service will be held on Friday (Nov. 15th) at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations if desired to Animal Friends.
