Janet "Jan" Lotz Obituary

Janet Haley Lotz, "Jan", (Mrs. Paul) died on Friday, July 19th at the age of 90. Survived by five much beloved nieces and nephews, ten great-nieces and nephews, 12 great-great nieces and nephews and beloved sister Alice Ward.

Jan and Paul shared their beautiful wooded acres in Glen Osborne for 58 years until his death in 2016 at 89 after 61 years of marriage. She stayed in their little wooden lodge still enjoying feeding the wide variety of birds and observing the interesting wildlife.

Living close to nature gave them great joy as did the wonderful neighborhood where the children she and Paul watched grow up came back to build homes and raise families. Their lives were enriched by having these families as friends; the Torchia's, Atwood's, Brown's, Muder's, Lydon's, Sullivan's, Kerr's, O’Neill’s, Sadd's, Bryant's and Monski's and sharing picnics, Christmas dinners, our Easter egg hunts and haunted Halloween driveways with them.

They camped all of America and Canada their entire married life marveling at the beauty of nature and the kindness and diversity of people's lives. Jan recorded their life experiences, nature observations and travels in many books of poetry.

She was so blessed to have married Paul, that good brave man, truly the love of her life.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The family also requests everyone to feed the birds in winter in Jan & Paul's memory and do what you can to protect the natural beauty of this great country we live in. Love your neighbors and pray for peace in the world.
