James E.” Jim” Kreske, 88, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024, at UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born the son of the late John and Clara Nizinski Kreske in Pittsburgh on March 5, 1936. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carol Ann (Gazdik) Kreske; loving father of Debra (Scott) Snaman, Sharon (Chris) Miller, Bonnie (Brian) Slavinsky and the late Raymond Kreske; cherished grandfather of Sarah Ballinger, Leah (Joel) Barnes, Jeffrey Snaman, Valarie (Caleb) Stout, Ashlee (Brad) Roberts, Samuel Slavinsky, Zoe Slavinsky, and Lacie Slovinsky; great grandfather of Haley Martin and Eliana Barnes. In addition to his parents and his son, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy and brothers Robert and Eugene. For 42 years, Jim served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, retiring on December 31, 1994 as a Senior Master Sergeant. Jim was an active member of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, St. Margaret Mary Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Senior Men’s Club of Sewickley as well as the Moon Golf League. His favorite pastimes were camping and traveling with family and enjoying a good game of golf. Visitation Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family suggest donations to the Knights of Columbus, 518 Thorn Run Rd, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
