James M. Kavros

James M. Kavros; Age 94, of Moon Twp for the last 20 years, formerly of Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon and Chester, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Villa St. Joseph in Baden, PA. Born in McKeesport on January 11, 1932, a son of the late Michael and Adamandia Kavros. Jim was the beloved husband of 58 years to Lillie J. (Saitis) Kavros who preceded him in death in 2011. Loving mother of Diana Lee Gregorakis (James) of Moon Twp and Stephen Kavros (late Janet) of Brookline. Brother of the late George (Irene) Kavros of VA, late Katherine (late Bill) Paul and the late Reynea (Christ) Kostas of Dormont, PA. Along with his wife Lillie, Jim owned Elegant Beauty Salon in Chester, PA. He also went on to own and operate the Tom Jones Charcoal Pit and later worked for Allegheny County as a painter. He was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be held at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp on Sunday, August 2nd from 1 – 5 pm with a Trisagion service to be held at 4:00 pm.  Further visitation will be held from 10am until time of service at 11am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Rd, Ambridge, PA 15003. A meal of consolation will be held at Franzee’s and Javy’s banquet hall, 1300 Merchant Street, Ambridge, PA 15003 immediately following the service. Entombment will be PRIVATE.
