James Hanobeck Obituary

James Alexander Hanobeck, 85, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at St. Clair Hospital. Born in Coraopolis on June 27, 1938, he was the only child to the late Alexander and Eleanor (Koch) Hanobeck. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Arlene (DeStefano) Hanobeck, and his son James P. Hanobeck. Jim had been employed as a general manager for Dahlkemper’s. After retirement, he drove a delivery truck for Snyders of Hanover. He served in the U.S. Army 1955-1958.  Jim was a member of St. Joseph Church where he had received his Sacraments. He loved Rivers Casino. Beloved father of Karen Rose of McKees Rocks; loving grandfather of Abby Rose, Tara Patterson and Garridan Cercone; cherished great grandfather of Dacey Monet Driggers and Daxton Rose. Jim will be remembered as gentle and a kind soul. He was great with people. Jim had a slow smile that would shine in his happy eyes. Jim loved his wife and family very much. As we celebrate Jim’s life, we ask that you join us at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, St. Joseph Church, 1301 Fifth Ave. for Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 12th at 10 AM.
