James Ernest Broman, 77, of Hopewell, formerly of Moon Township, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home, of COVID. Born in Conway, PA on November 22, 1944, he was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Herman Broman and his son Andrew. He is survived by his children Peter, John, and Heather (Jackie) Broman; his grandchildren Hailee, Josie and Drew; his sisters Susan (Don) Kuriger and Shirley Hetz; his brothers Dick (Judi) and Don (Debbie) Broman; his long-time partner Alda Walker and former wife and friend Sheila Broman.
Jim spent much of his career with H & H Robertson Co. as a District Manager. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. during Vietnam with Co D, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, 199th Inf. BDE for meritorious service from 7/1968 to 11/1968 and E Co D Co S-1 from the Cottonbalers, 3d BN 7th Inf 199th Inf BDE from March 1968 to Feb 1969.
He attended the Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary and was a Lay Minister later in life.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10 AM until time of Memorial service at 11 AM, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 987 Beaver Grade Rd., Moon Township, PA 15108. Burial will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA with full military honors.
