James “Tuki” Smith
Coraopolis
James “Tuki” Smith, 49, left us too soon on Monday, May 31, 2021. Born September 23, 1971, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late James and Diane (Henderson) Smith. Tuki graduated from Cornell High School in 1989 and furthered his education at IUP obtaining both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Bio Science. A life-long learner, he had a love for education and was just a few credits shy of obtaining his PhD. He was the positive influence on his family and an inspiration to others to achieve more through further education. He lived every moment to the fullest, traveling every chance he could, a new adventure every weekend and keeping up with his college buddies and many friends. He lived and breathed IUP and enjoyed trips to IUP to watch the big games. Tuki will be remembered for his gentle nature and his helpful manner. He was meticulous in everything he did.
He will be missed by his siblings, Clarence “Butch” Smith, Lynne Smith, and Matthew Smith; aunts and uncles Mary Jane Johnson, Nina Myles, Marcus Henderson, Fonza Smith and Cynthia Smith; cousin Lisa Loveles and a host of other loving cousins; best and closest friend William M., along with other college friends, workplace friends and neighbors.
Relatives and friends will be received Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Copelands Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave, from 10am until time of service at 11am.
