Jacob “Jake” D. Luffy, 81, of Aliquippa, PA, entered his eternal rest with Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 23, 2026, with family by his side. Born August 10, 1944, in Canonsburg Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Jacob B. and Helen Zebert Luffy and the beloved husband of Audrey Peternel Luffy.
Jake was a graduate of Norwin High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He later received his Diploma of Ministry from Western Pennsylvania Bible Institute. Pastor Jake, as a devoted minister of the gospel for nearly 50 years, served as lead pastor of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship church until 2002, and thereafter as President of Building for the Future ministries.
Jake had a passion for people which was clearly expressed through his ever increasing circle of influence both at home and abroad. Widely recognized as having a special gift for Bible teaching, his life and love impacted thousands throughout the world as he relentlessly gave of himself to help others. His legacy will continue well into the future through those he touched and mentored.
Besides his loving wife of 59 years, Audrey; he is survived by his six children, David (Beth) Luffy, Elizabeth (Michael) Paterakis, Andrea (Pastor Jim) Klein, Daniel (Denise) Luffy, Joshua (Brittany) Luffy, and Monica (Joe) Mixer. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Peter Luffy, Helen Liprando, Denise (Sune) Kristiansson, Craig (Robin) Luffy, Wilda (Jim) Speer; and Linda (Don) Shean; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Matthew Luffy; one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Luffy; and one granddaughter, Brianna Klein.
Jake will be fondly remembered for his hard work ethic, caring nature, and love for Jesus, family and friends.
Friends and family will be welcomed at Wildwood Chapel located at 2850 Jack Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001 on Saturday, August 1, 2026, 9-11AM. Memorial service to follow at 11AM.
