Irene Schwabe Obituary

Irene Schwabe (nee Schuler), born on March 15, 1938, in Yonkers, NY passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024.  She was the beloved daughter of Mary DeCarlo and George Schuler.

Irene was the devoted wife of the late Herman Schwabe with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, until his passing in January 2021.  Together they built a home with love and warmth, spending the latter half of their life in Pennsylvania.

A cherished mother Irene is survived by her three children, her daughter Paula DelBrocco, whose husband Dante passed away in May 2021, her son Jeffrey and his wife Jade, who reside in California, and her eldest son Douglas, who lives in Pennsylvania.  Irene leaves behind her dear older sister, Veronica Hendricks of FL, widow of Richard Hendricks, and many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Irene will be remembered as a beautiful soul, both inside and out.  Her life was a testament to love, devotion and care for her family and home.  She poured her heart into nurturing her loved ones and creating a haven of warmth and affection. She was a devoted mother who created special memories with her children, taking them fishing, ice skating, swimming, and teaching them to fly kites, the list goes on.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Masonic Village, Sewickley Nursing and AHN Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided for Irene in her final days.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Irene’s memory.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.  Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel.
