Iolanda Maria (Epifania) Floro

Iolanda M. Floro, of Sewickley, died on April 26, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born on September 18, 1933 in Falerna, Calabria, Italy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gesuele Epifania, her sister, Maria Macchione, her sister-in-law, Italia Floro and her brother-in-law, Tommaso Floro. Iolanda immigrated to Sewickley with her husband, Giuseppe, in 1952, where she resided for the remainder of her life and raised her children.

Iolanda is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Giuseppe Floro. Cherished mother to Antonia (Nella) Haegg (Richard), Anthony Floro (Mindy) and Serafino (Sam) Floro (Lisa). Adored Nanna to Jacqueline Ruberto, Michael Haegg (Amy), Joseph Floro, Marisa Floro, Alaina Floro and Dominic Floro. Treasured great-grandmother to Roman, Tori, and Kennedy Haegg. Iolanda is also survived by her brother, Frank Epifania (Maria) of Glen Cove, NY, her brothers-in-law, Giovanni Macchione and Mariano Floro and sister-in-law Tommasina Floro, all of Sewickley, and many nieces and nephews.

Iolanda was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and an incredible baker. Her bread, Easter bread, and cookies were treasured by her family and friends. Her pasta sauce was loved by all who tasted it. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was the best babysitter to them when they were younger. Above all and most importantly, Iolanda’s love for her family was insurmountable and unconditional. All of her family felt treasured as soon as they walked into the house.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 30 from 1 – 5 pm at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley where a prayer service will be held on Monday, May 1 at 10 AM prior to Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Catholic Church, 200 Walnut Street, Sewickley at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, 417 Water Works Road, Sewickley.
