Helen A. (Johnson) Henning, 92, a life-long resident of Sewickley, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, at North Hills Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Helen was born in Sewickley on September 19, 1932, one of four children to the late John Taggert and Agnes (Swanson) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Henning; her sister Betty Dyer, her brother John Johnson III and two cherished grandson Jeremiah and Jared. She was the beloved mother of Dan L. Henning of Brush Valley, PA, Gary L. Henning of New Brunswick, GA, Kevin J. Henning of Rochester, PA, and Glenn S. (Tracy) of Sewickley; loving “Nan Nan” of Joshua, Justin, Ryan, Brad, Travis and Tyler; great grandmother of 14; sister of Nellie (Jan) Miller of Baytown, TX. She was the perfect “Mom,” who loved gardening, canning, needlepoint, crocheting and was a bingo warrior. She loved every grandchild and valued her time with each. Visitation Thursday 5-8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations if desired to a charity of your choice.
