Helen Fronko age 84 died peacefully on Easter Saturday, March 31, 2018, surrounded by her family in her home at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She was born on September 5, 1933 to Stanley and Josephine (Schaffer) Klimek of Butler, Pennsylvania. She grew up in the town of Lyndora, Pennsylvania in a house at the top of Kohler Avenue with four sisters, ( Josephine, MaryAnn, Loretta and Francis) and two brothers ( Stanley and Joseph).
Helen graduated in 1955 from West Penn Hospital School of Nursing. She married the love of her life Richard E. Fronko and together raised 4 children. After the children were grown, she renewed her nursing license by attending University of Pittsburgh and Chatham College. She worked at the Kane County Hospital as a registered nurse. Helen was a student of the Bible and enjoyed teaching and learning the word, she also enjoyed cooking, hosting meals for family and friends. She was especially famous for her sour cherry jam. She enjoyed swimming and making quilts for family and friends, loved the game of bridge and played until her passing. Helen loved the smells and sounds of the ocean.
Helen is preceded by death by her husband of 57 years Richard E. Fronko. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Fronko) Kennedy wife of Scott Kennedy of Sewickley, Pennsylvania and her sons, Richard of Santa Clara, California, Gerald husband of Kelli Fronko of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and John husband of Sharon Fronko of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, David, Annelies, Jordan, Jared, Abby, Scott and Tierra, and 3 great grandchildren; Kaleb, Blake and Vivian.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6th from 6-8 pm at Copeland's Sewickley, 702 Beaver Street. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 7th at St. Stephens Church, Sewickley PA. Burial will be at Sewickley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Life Assurance at Bethany Village Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. or People of the Unborn Child.
