Harry “Tom” Sanders, Jr., 89, of Moon Twp. passed away peacefully at Concordia - Villa St. Joseph, Baden. Born December 16, 1931, in Sewickley, he was the only child to the late Harry T. Sanders, Sr. and Lillian A. (Anderson) Sanders. Tom proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked as a draftsman and estimator for various companies within the Roofing and Construction Industry.
Tom enjoyed the sport of golf throughout his life, from his younger years as a club professional at Shannopin Country Club, to playing in multiple golf leagues. He loved introducing and instructing others in the sport, including family and friends. Tom was always up for playing 18 holes, so if you were looking for him, he could be found on the course.
Tom was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family, above all. Attending sporting events, family vacations and gatherings were among his happiest times.
He will be remembered and missed by his devoted wife of 59 years, Carol (Chapala) Sanders, his beloved children Tom Sanders (Shawna Bostaph), Amy Tolfa and Cathy (Nathan) Springer; his former Son-in-Law, Leo Tolfa, and his cherished grandchildren, Emily and Hunter Tolfa.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Copeland, 981 Brodhead Rd, Moon Twp., where morning prayers will be said at 9:30am on Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Margaret Mary location at 10am.
